To start the year off the team headed to Mulwala for their Summer Carnival. It was the 10th year that the team had performed at this event. Brad, Steve and Kain were joined by former X Games gold medalist Blake BILKO Williams. The event was attended by close to 4000 people with team showbags selling out after the second performance and over 1500 team posters signed. Monster Energy calander girl Courtney even joined the team to sign calendars. The boys grabbed some footage on their IPHONES from the event and put together this short video.
For the last show of the year the team headed to Mt Cotton for Sean Bolgers birthday party, a bunch of lucky kids watched in amazement as Brad, Matty and Kain put on a show. After heavy rain and the truck getting stuck in the mud in the original jump site in the back yard the team moved the show to the street out the front. After dodging a few cars the show got started and by the end had drawn are large crowd of neighbors and passing traffic. Jack Field joined in the fun with a trials show. Following the demos all the kids caught up with the boys grabbing autographs, posters and a heap of giveaways, To finish the afternoon the team hung around and party with the kids.
“it was a great show to finish the year with, we had a blast.”

The final round of the V8 Supercars was held in Sydney on the weekend. The event was huge with over 165,000 people attending with Brad, Matty and Steve performing 12 shows in the main merchandise precinct. Autograph meet and greet sessions were done at the Castrol Orrcon Zone across the weekend. It was all so a big weekend for Gary’s friends who celebrated a bucks weekend that included Pit tours, grid walks, limousines and Orrcon corporate suite tickets on Sunday for the main race. Congratulations goes to Orrcon FPR driver Mark Winterbottom for the race win on Sunday and a huge concrats to fellow Monster athlete and friend Jamie Whincup for winning the 2011 V8 Supercar Championship.
Over the weekend the Showtime FMX team and I (Matty McFerran) headed down to the beautiful Darling Harbour for the Sydney Motorcycle and Scooter Show. In recent years the show had come home to Olympic park in Homebush but this years venue in the heart of Sydney city proved to be an awesome hit with both fans and the team.
Our Showtime FMX truck was setup up meters from the exhibition center at Darling Harbour, which attracted a huge audience to every show as it random tourists, business suits, family’s and Motorcycle fans the chance to see some awesome freestyle motocross action that they weren’t expecting.
I was joined by team mate Brad Burch and veteran team mate Steve Mini along with stunt bike rider Matt Mingay. We all performed three demos each day for the Sydney crowd only missing one on the Friday due to rain. This event was Mini’s first official show with the team since his crash on the Nitro Circus live tour, Mini was pumped to be back and had this to say. “ Its great to finally be back doing what I love after so many months off the bike, and especially at the Sydney Motorcycle Show, this has always been one of my favorite events.”
All the shows were a massive success and helped attract a huge audience to the show inside and even produced a few new FMX fans, which is what the team is all about.
